Over time, residues form on the rollers of the ink fountain, rubbers, which cannot be washed off with conventional flushing agents. The rollers are covered with glaze. The glaze is formed from the components of the printing inks, fountain solution, anti-setoff powders, and the paper to be printed.
The quality of printing decreases, the “bare rollers” occur: the ink is not perceived by the roller surface. Offset rubber also begins to poorly perceive the ink, the saturation of prints decreases, the reproduction of raster elements deteriorates. Due to increased water hardness, carbonate residues in the form of white sediments on the ink rollers may occur. The white crystals have sharp ends and damage the surface of the rollers. Tiny ink particles also accumulate in the pores of the rubber, which harden and also complicate the ink transfer process.
In this connection, we offer means to preserve the properties of rollers and offset rubber and prolong their service life. Such means should be used systematically for preventive cleaning in order to avoid the above-mentioned complications and to save the equipment.
